After much of Mosul was left in ruins following life under ISIS, the UN is piloting a project to help reconstruct 15,000 in the Old City, providing employment opportunities for young people in the process.
The UN says that it will seek billions of Dollars in additional aid for Syrian refugees. Syria has also become the world’s largest refugee crisis, with more than 5.6 million Syrians fleeing to Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Egypt.
On Wednesday 18th of July, Egypt and the United Nations signed a Declaration of Intent which gives Egypt support to rebuild Sinai. The UNDP representative present at the signing stressed the organisations support in developing Sinai.
