According to an Arab News - Arab Strategy Forum, 55% of Arab youth believe that corruption is the main problem in their country, followed by unemployment at 46%. Even then, the high rates of unemployment in MENA region are linked to corruption, according to experts.
In response to Turkey’s Operation Peace Spring in northern Syria, the Egyptian parliament hosted Syrian Ambassador to Egypt Bassam Darwish in a move to show its official support for Syria against Turkey, and as a prelude to better diplomatic relations.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Jordanian King Abdullah II and Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi met in Cairo to discuss ways to enhance economic and strategic relations, as well as a unified Arab position toward the regional developments.
"We don’t have audiences who are sufficiently conscious of the real issues facing their country or fully convinced theatre should in a way reflect such realities," says Walid Ismail, a professor at the Academy of Arts in Cairo, when asked about the missing links in Arab theatre.
