Tunisia's president made an unscheduled visit to Sidi Bouzid, where the first protests of Tunisia's revolt erupted, sparking the Arab Spring movements in the region. During his visit, President Kais Saied, promised to honour the demands of the Tunisian revolution.
In a surprise move, Tunisian authorities released Nabil Karoui - one of the two candidates for the upcoming presidential elections - from jail. His release has intensified the campaigns for the election which is due to take place on Sunday.
