Dozens of protesters stormed the US Embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday following US strikes that targeted a pro-Iranian militia group in the country. The US say the strike was a response to a prior attack by the militia that took place on Friday.
With efforts to form a coalition government in Tunisia underway, it would appear that the Ennahda Party, which secured a series of victories in the recent parliamentary and presidential elections, is excluding its closest opponent, Qalb Tunis, from a "Coalition of Opposites", pushing instead for a coalition with four smaller parties.
In a surprise move, Tunisian authorities released Nabil Karoui - one of the two candidates for the upcoming presidential elections - from jail. His release has intensified the campaigns for the election which is due to take place on Sunday.
Weeks after the elections in Iraq were held, the Parliament has not yet been formed. Current Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi is seeking to push parties to form blocs that would lead to a complete parliament.
