Four years after ISIS' defeat in Sirte, Libya, the Government of National Accord (GNA) continues to engage in military confrontations with the militant group, having recently captured in Faris Belhadj one of its top targets.
The United Nations with the support of local partners in Libya have organised training workshops to teach cadres from the cities of Tawergha and Misrata psychological and psychosocial support methods. The cadres will then be a part of a centre which delivers psychological support to locals in the two cities.
The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) met with representatives of the two Libyan towns of Tawergha and Misrata to discuss the removal of mines from Tawergha in order to ensure a safe return of the Tawerghan's back to their town.
After reaching an agreement on the return of over 40,000 displaced Tawarghans, the residents of the two cities in Libya have begun the first phases of reconciliation by joining each other in mosques for iftar.
