Lebanese Minister of Interior, Raya al-Hassan, said that the security situation is at least 90% better than what it was a few years ago. She credits the security forces for carrying out their duties and securing the country.
Around 3,000 refugees in Lebanon are expected to go back to Syria in the coming week. The refugees living in a border town in northeast Lebanon will travel around 20 km (12 miles) over mountains that have separated them from their homes in Syria.
After holding its first Parliamentary Election in 9 years, earlier this month, Lebanon is choosing its officials. Nabih Berri, the widely expected nominee, has held the post of Lebanese Speaker of Parliament since 1992.
