In a meeting with cabinet ministers, the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez al-Sarraj discussed the issue of Libyan frozen assets and funds abroad and the measures that should be taken to ensure their legal protection.
After a week of fighting, the Libyan National Army (LNA) loyal to Khalifa Haftar say they have retaken As Sidra oil port and and airstrip at Ras Lanuf. This comes less than a week after the LNA launched an operation to retake the two port cities which were lost to militias.
The four Libyan leaders, Khalifa Haftar, Fayed al-Sarraj, Aguila Saleh Issa, and Khalid al-Mishri attended a conference in Paris in which they announced that they are all committed to holding elections in Libya on 10th of December, 2018.
Scepticism amongst many as France convenes peace conference seen as risky French-backed push for political settlement in Libya. The conference was attended by the major actors in Libyan politics, including Khalifa Haftar, and Fayez al-Sarraj.
