Residents in the Syrian city of Raqqa are doing all they can to remove remnants of ISIS' destructive rule in the city. Amongst the things that they are doing is changing the names of the streets, which were named by ISIS.
Since their defeat in Iraq in December 2017, ISIS sleeper cells have attempted to launch attacks on various towns and villages in Mosul. However, the Iraqi Security Forces with the cooperation of the locals have been able to thwart ISIS attacks on the city.
In order to rid the country of ISIS sleeper cells, the Iraqi Security Forces continue their security operations in the Diyala Province. In this operation ISIS hideouts were destroyed in Buhriz and Kanaan districts.
The Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) are pushing ahead to eliminate the remaining ISIS cells in the Diyala Province in Iraq. The commander of Diyala’s operations, Lieutenant General Mizher al-Azzawi, said that the forces will comb the province until they reach the borders with Wasit Province.
The Iraqi Security Forces are pushing ahead in Anbar and are clearing the remaining ISIS cells in the region. This comes in conjunction with operation "Vengeance for the Martyrs" which seeks to eliminate ISIS sleeper cells in Kirkuk, Diyala and Salahuddin Provinces.
The number of ISIS sleeper cells in Nineveh is dwindling dramatically thanks to the efforts of the Counterterrorism units of the Iraqi Army. The security forces call upon citizens to aid them in eliminating ISIS sleeper cells in their areas.
