Rights and women activists are exerting efforts to convince Jordan’s Senate to amend several articles of the Personal Status Law that allow child marriage, and disregards women’s rights in divorce and inheritance.
On Monday, Libya’s High State Council (HSC) voted its preconditional approval of the House of Representatives’ (HoR) proposal to restructure the Presidential Council (PC) in Libya. The proposal reduces the PC to three members consisting of one head and two deputies.
With the conflict entering its 8th year, the main political actors in Libya are trying to reach a settlement which has the potential to be the solution to the crisis. The latest attempt was done by France in cooperation with other countries.
