Resident of Mosul recounts how women were tortured by ISIS in the city

A woman from Mosul recounts the horrors of life under ISIS. “We cannot go out. We have to wear gloves and socks, and full Niqab. Everything. We have to cover our eyes. We cannot go out. We cannot go to the souk unless we have a male guardian,” said the woman.

She discusses further how women in ISIS’s Hisba would subject their female captives to savage beatings. Just today, AlShahid reported on other brutal methods of torture suffered under the group, particularly the case of “the biters“, who would punish their victims by biting chunks out of skin using metal teeth.
