Syrian refugees have started arriving into the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) as Turkish offensive continues in northeastern Syria.
The first group of refugees fleeing the Turkish offensive in northeastern Syria arrived in the Kurdistan Region on Monday (October 14).
NRT has learned that the refugees, who were mostly from Qamishli, are being sheltered in the Domiz camp in Duhok.
Turkish army and Syrian rebel forces launched an intervention into northeastern Syria on October 9. The UN said on Monday that an estimated 160,000 people have been displaced so far.
