Iraqi Christians set up exhibition of historical remains that ISIS destroyed

Iraqi Christians of Erbil have set up a public exhibition of religious objects that had been destroyed by ISIS members to document the crimes of the terrorist organisation.

A member of the Christians of Iraq group said that despite the difficulties of organising the exhibition, they wanted to raise awareness of the destruction of sacred items caused by ISIS. “Of course we wanted to do this exhibition to show the people who couldn’t go there the image of of part of the image of destruction that occurred there,” said one of the exhibition organisers.

Iraq’s Christians have been persecuted by ISIS militants during recent years. ISIS is known to have tortured Christians, desecrated churches and smashed religious items and symbols.
