1,385 New Coronavirus Cases Recorded In Iraq: Ministry


The Iraqi Ministry of Health announced that it recorded 1,885 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, with 60 deaths.

SULAIMANI — The federal Ministry of Health said on Tuesday (June 16) that it recorded 1,385 new cases of coronavirus and 60 deaths in the country over the past 24 hours.

A total of 608 of the newest cases are in Baghdad governorate, 132 in Sulaimani, 109 in Dhi Qar, 100 in Maysan, 76 in Basra, 62 in Diyala, 60 in Babil, 56 in Wasit, 40 in Karbala, 35 in Kirkuk, 35 in Najaf, 32 in Erbil, nineteen in Diwaniyah, eleven in Nineveh, six in Anbar, two in Muthanna, and two in Duhok.

The ministry said that 60 patients died from the virus 591 patients recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection.

According to health ministry, there have been 22,700 cases of coronavirus in Iraq, 9,862 patients have recovered from COVID-19, and 712 have died from it.
