In preparation for UNESCO's visit to the ancient city of Babylon near Hilla, Iraq, the world heritage site is being cleaned from trash and military remnants.The Babylonian Theatre gardens and the gardens that face the front of the Temple of Ishtar are some of the main sites that were cleaned ahead of the visit.
Despite being displaced, residents in the Ein Issa camp are enjoying the World Cup through an initiative carried out by al-Qubba association. The association provided the residents of the camp a large screen and a receiver which streams all world cup matches.
Local charity is screening all World Cup matches for free at Ain Issa camp for displaced Syrians in northern province of Raqqa. The displaced Syrians express their happiness regarding this initiative because "it draws people out of their torment," said a displaced spectator.
Ahead of FIFA World Cup, a team of Egyptian street children play in their own tournament in Russia and demonstrate their potential in the sport. The football tournament held in Russia targets street-connected and homeless children from 20 countries.
As Egypt prepares to participate in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, more Egyptian women move to the soccer field, both as referees and fans. Two women have already been made referees in Egypt's Second Division.
