Egyptian security forces continue their sweeping operation against Islamist militants in Sinai Peninsula. During their last campaign, the Egyptian security forces were able to kill 11 suspected jihadists in el-Arish, the capital of North Sinai province.
Earlier this month the Egyptian Supreme Judiciary Council decided to promote 16 female judges. While women have been latecomers to the Egyptian judiciary, they have been inching toward key posts in waves.
After the appointment of two new female ministers on Thursday, the current Egyptian cabinet is made up of 8 female ministers. This results in a quarter of the Egyptian cabinet being occupied by female ministers.
Prime Minister of Egypt Sherif Ismail has resigned his position days after President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi was sworn in for his second term in office. Sherif Ismail has been Egypt’s Prime Minister since 2015.
