The newly formed Lebanese Government has recently set the policy objectives of Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri's government. Amongst the main objectives that they highlighted was the need for strict economic reforms in Lebanon, in order to bring down the debt-to-GDP ratio.
Musicians and poets are challenging social norms in Sidon, Lebanon’s conservative third-largest city. Sidewalk Saida, is the newest branch of a network of recurring open mic events that aim to showcase poets, musicians and artists across Lebanon.
The Lebanese speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, said that “procrastination in forming the government has a negative affect on the situation in Lebanon.” This comes after a halt in the government formation following the parliamentary elections that took place in the country on May 6.
