The Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate has arrested an ISIS logistics provider and a female ISIS militant who was responsible for delivering foodstuff to ISIS militants in their hideouts in Nineveh Province.
On Wednesday, the Iraqi Interior Ministry announced that the Federal Police have arrested three ISIS members in Kirkuk and Salahuddin provinces. These ISIS arrests are part of a wider operation by the Iraqi Security Forces to rid the country from ISIS sleeper cells, dormant in throughout the provinces.
An Iraqi security source reported on Wednesday that an ISIS leader has been arrested in al-Saadiya region in Diyala after receiving information from the Iraqi intelligence services. This arrest comes as a result of the Iraqi Security Forces operation to clear Diyala from ISIS sleeper cells.
The Kurdish governmental office in charge of Yazidi abductees declared that Kurdish authorities have released two Yazidis, a young man and a woman, that were kidnapped by ISIS in Tal Banat village in Nineveh's Sinjar district four years ago.
The Samarra Operations Command launched a military operation in order to destroy ISIS hotbeds and sleeper cells. This comes after Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory over the group last December.
