The UN on Wednesday urged warring parties in Syria to allow basic health service deliveries to tens of thousands of increasingly desperate Syrians trapped in the desert near the Jordanian border. UNICEF said that two Syrian babies died near the Rukban border crossing over the past 48 hours.
In Nasiriya Province treatment for cancer is rare. As a result, locals have been collecting money in order to buy treatment from outside of the country and then donating it to needy patients in the hospitals.
Hospital in the Syrian town of Kafr Nabl provides free physiotherapy treatment to around 200 patients, despite suffering from financial and human resources. Patients worry that the hospital will shut down if no support is given to it.
