The Iraqi Counterterrorism Forces, Federal Police, Salahuddin Operations Command and the Popular Mobilisation Units (PMU) have launched an assault on four different axes against ISIS sleeper cells in the Hamrin Mountains.
On Monday, Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) announced that a strategic tunnel used by the Islamic State (ISIS) in the Hamrin Mountains, was destroyed. According to the security source, the tunnel was used by ISIS to move from one place into another in order to carry out terrorist attacks.
Following clashes between the Syrian Regime and ISIS in southern Daraa Province, the militant group is now cornered in in a small pocket south of the province and in the Yarmouk Basin. The clashes which took place on Tuesday afternoon came after ISIS attack on Sweida last week, which killed over 250 people.
