An Iraqi engineer, Kais Jacob Ishak, leads his own mission to preserve Iraq's heritage in 3D reconstructions. The project, which began 7 years ago, attempts to recreate the country's rich historical heritage on 3D software, to be used as a learning tool for educators.
Young volunteers in Mosul have organised a cultural festival in defiance of ISIS' legacy. The volunteers used a forest, which was previously used by ISIS as a training camp and base, as the venue for their cultural exhibition.
Christians were a primary target for ISIS, who had driven away Assyrians and Armenians from their homes in Nineveh Province. As a result, an artist launched an exhibition in Erbil which seeks to commemorate their displacement and suffering under ISIS rule.
“Breaking the ice” is a collaborative effort by Tunisians and Libyans who seek to change the image of their countries presented in the media. The cultural project exhibited the country's musicians and artists.
