ISIS destroys homes before fleeing from village west of Raqqa

A woman from al-Mahmoud village from west Raqqa shows her destroyed home after it was ransacked and burnt by ISIS fighters.

Asked why ISIS had destroyed her house, the woman said that militants ruined all the houses on the street. She had to leave her house, leaving behind all her possessions. “Many people have been dislodged,” she said. “They’ve killed many others and piled their bodies up. Come see the destruction.”

Similar incidences have been reported in Iraq’s northern city of Mosul, where ISIS fighters torched civilian homes before fleeing the area.

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to make progress in Operation Euphrates Wrath having began sweeping operations of more than 40 villages around Raqqa during the last few days.
