Having completed the evacuations of residents living in Aleppo to the western suburbs, those displaced face yet another obstacle in the form of severe weather conditions.
Camps have been erected in the western suburbs of Aleppo and Idlib for IDPs, although resources are scarce. Tens of thousands face a lack of heating, medicine and adequate shelter. Although evacuees are no longer subject to ariel bombardment, they still face a shortage of basic necessities. “It became very difficult in Aleppo,” said one girl. “No food, no water. There’s nothing. There was nothing at all to eat or drink.”
More and more people are being forced to leave their homes due to the ongoing conflict in Syria. In Homs, people talk about the difficulties they face after being displaced from their neighborhoods.
