125 000 Syrians return to Jarablus after liberation from ISIS

Residents of Jarablus have returned to the city in the aftermath of its liberation, but life at home is far from what it used to be.

The “Euphrates Shield” operations have thus far successfully liberated different towns and cities from ISIS control. Jarablus was controlled by ISIS from July 2013 to 24 August 2016, when Turkish-backed FSA fighters claimed the city.

Residents have returned to a home where clean water, food and medical assistance are all scarce; aid from Turkey was delivered before the ceasefire began, but this is not enough so serve the needs of 125,000 people. A building has been assigned as a hospital, but it lacks the staff and equipment to assist those in need of medical attention.
